Jun 16, 2005. The change from 'Super Takumar' to 'Super-Multi-Coated Takumar' took place somewhere between serial numbers starting 46 (Super) and 56 (S-M-C). The change between 'Super-Multi-Coated Takumar' and 'smc Pentax' took place somewhere between 8257xxx (S-M-C Tak) and 8275172 (smc Pentax). I have a Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8, serial number 954639, very similar to yours except the aperture scale and A/M switch go in the opposite direction. Both versions have an 8/7 scheme.
This first version is bigger, much bigger than the second version...My experience with yellowed Taks
was that they cleaned up well ...good price i believe ..
